well the ones that claim to remove plaque should be used before brushing...the ones that are for fresh breath should be used after brushing.

I would suggets after because mouthwash helps to clean the leftover food particles that brushing leaves behind. It's like having extra insurance against plaque and other problems. Use it twice a day. Morning and night.It really does make a difference.
