I read it, and I love it. Its a very down-to-earth, helpful, and loving story. At the end, everyone gets what they deserve. I love the "feeling" of the book. Its realistic, except for the everything bad happens when there's a "7". Its definitely worth reading. I rented the movie just a couple days ago, and I loved it too. The book was much better of course, and in the movie you get to hear the song THAT'S THE BEAT OF A HEART in the Special Features. Its such a sweet song and I kept replaying it. I won't say much about it because I don't want to give it away. I definitely recommend the book, and I hope you enjoy it too.

It is definitely worth reading. The book is both interesting and original with humor but also a tug at the old heartstrings. It was an Oprah Book Club Selection in 1999. The book was also made into a movie (not bad) with Natalie Portman.
I really loved this book. The main character, Novalee Nation is a so unique. I would tell you more about the book but to tell the truth I don't want to spoil it for you. What I will say is the message it tells about love, friendship and true family is really important.

Yes - it's a wonderful book. I read the book WAY before the movie came out and, like many things, it far exceeds the movie.
I would HIGHLY recommend the book.

If you can't bring yourself to read the book (which I personally thought was encouraging) rent the movie.
Ashley Judd and Natalie Portman play the main characters
