Lafayette came from France to help train soldiers with Washington at Valley Forge. Franklin spent much of the war in Paris rallying for support both directly with troops and financially. (German soldiers (Hessians) were paid by England to come here and fight, so we were not generally supported by Germany. )

Well the french pretty much became most of our army. Laffayete played a mahor role in planning the few batles we did win. we had a german colonel hwo trained the troops i foget his name we also had help from the dutch thats a really basic overview

France helped with troops and armaments-- if not for them, we would have lost the Revolution.
I believe Spain helped too, but the French were the bigger ones.
