My best friend stabbed(but not killed) her b/f in self defence but is scared she might still go to jail and she is 8months pregnant so i took the fall for her.My lawyer said the case is strong cos all the evidence prove to self defence, but i would knw in a few weeks when i go to court again i am currently out on bail. She is my best friend she is the only family i have and i couldnt bear seeing her child bein taken away from her and being put up for adoption.
Am i doing the right thing?I am scared please i need help!

most of you wont understand but when the incident occured i was there he was beating her and without realising she grabbed the knife and stabbed him, she has a record already for a previous case. my lawyer said i will defenatly go free cos her boyfriend did not even show up for the first trial. When i had no one she was there for me she stood up for me when no one would, she cared for me when no one wanted to, she makes me feel better just by holding me. This is her 2nd child, her first child was killed in an car accident and it killed her inside thats why i know what it would do to her if she lost her unborn baby, she does not want me to take the fall for her but cos i know due to her previous case the judge will not view this one as self defence!!!

Talk to your lawyer, about putting your friend on the stand with immunity - meaning no legal repercussions for her - as a last resort.
Would I take the fall, under most circumstances no, I wouldn't. I would right now because I need the solitary confinement - I can get some rest. But no, after all - your friend could have maced the bf in self-defense instead.

I understand that you want to be a good friend and what not but think about it, you're about to go to court and possibly be charged for a crime you did not do. If your friend really was a true friend she wouldn't have put you in the middle of this. I guess if it truly was self defence she shouldn't have anything to worry about. Idk it's a tough call but now you're in it way too deep and if suddenly you confessed that you were lying to save her she'd look really guilty. I guess all I can say is good luck.

You are doing the wrong thing. If it is all in self defense then she shouldn't be scared. You guys should have consulted a lawyer first before making any statements.
I THINK THIS QUESTION IS BOGUS BECAUSE WOULDN'T BE HER BOYFRIEND BE ABLE TO TELL WHO REALLY STABBED HIM? WERE YOU IN THE VICINITY WHEN IT HAPPENED?

First of all, yeah, I'd take the fall for my best friend and I know he would for me.
The only thing is - if the guy isn't dead, there's a witness that you didn't actually do it. So, she gets nailed for the stabbing and you get nailed for perjury if you testify that you did it.

You are a person of great character. You were brave and very self-sacrificing to do that. Which I had a friend like you. I have a daughter so I'd never risk losing her to do anything like that for anyone.

You should not take the blame for anyone. Your friend did the crime now she needs to stand up and be a woman and admit it. If she were truly a friend she wouldn't let you take the blame for her. Tell the truth now before this goes any further.

i admire that u have taken the rap for her. thats really brave. but is really the best thing for u? I don't really no wot to say coz its a really strong case. If ur friend does say that she did it , then u could adopt the child but like seceretly it would be hers. I am so sorry i don't really no wot to say.

I think you did the right thing. You will not go to jail because your friend acted in self defense.
