Is F.E. Olds and Sons a good brass instrument maker?

They are selling a 2002 rotary 4 valve tuba for $1500. Is this a reasonable price?

Looks like an old dinged-up Olds Tuba is about to sell on Ebay for $326. I'd guess that your tuba is priced about right for a new one. *Shrug* Before you buy, you may want to check Ebay.

Olds is known for making sturdy instruments and cases, the kind that schools use. I had an Olds double French horn. No complaints.

The old Olds were good solid instruments made in Ca an Texas. They went bankrupt in 1979. The name was bought a few years ago as a cover for much imported junk. The 2002 might be ok... or not.
