No welfare so new borne babys can starve , Controll of your own money when most cant balance a check book . Including political leaders . Democrats do not kill babys . People choose to . In cases such as anacephally we would leave no choice for the woman . i am learning thanx for the input so far .

Do you realise Bush and Cheney Both used over 200 million of free money from government grants ! ? As for Gays getting married is that not a right of all free americans to get married . By nature this Subject is unAmerican . When our government is trillians in debt . Is this an example of taking responsibility from the Republicans in controll now ?

I've been a Democrat all my life until the last couple of years. I don't feel the Democrats have a platform other than "Bush is an Idiot and everything he does is wrong". This is not a political platform to get behind. It solves nothing. Talking about WMD solves nothing, we're still there. Howard Dean is nuts. I'm shocked by the things that come out of his mouth. Daily Kos is so hateful. The treatment of Lieberman after forty years of service sickened me. I feel although I'm liberal the Democratic Party has just kicked me out, like they did Joe.
Edit for your Edit:
PS: I'm agnostic,pro-choice,pro-gay marriage. I believe immigrants that are here should be able to stay. I'm not pro-war (that's rude). I believe that some people don't respond to diplomacy though. Can you think of a Democrat (not liberal or conservative) that has said something other than "we've squandered good will" "we've wasted resources". I want to here what the Dems would DO. Be open to that. It's important to winning elections. Oh, I'm also a book-keeper by trade and can balance a checkbook.

I am a Republican because I believe in personal responsibility, lower taxes, national security, the death penalty, abortion restrictions, and social security reform. While I believe that everyone should have equal opportunities, I don't believe in applying quotas or affirmative action to achieve "equality". I believe strategic tax cuts help to grow the economy and have been shown to increase revenue to the government, and I don't believe democrats have answers to the problems that face our nation. I am against gay marriage and believe welfare should be limited. There will always be rich and poor, and the economy of the country as a whole will falter the more the government strives to provide an equilibrium standard of living. Joe Lieberman is the only democrat I respect, and I can't stand Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer, Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, Cynthia McKinney, Wiiliam Jefferson, Hllary Clinton, Howard Dean, Jimmy Carter, Jesse Jackson, etc. I can't think of more than one democratic politician that I respect. So, the question is why are you a democrat?

I'm more spiritual than religious. I'm a logical thinker, I don't care for big government, actually really don't care for government, I hate taxes, I hate waste, I'm responsible and feel more people should be responsible too. I'm pro-military, I believe moral and ethical values create a strong society. I believe abortion should be used only as a last resort and not a method of birth control.

Honest answer: My mother went house to house with the Democrat registration representative registering people to vote. I was told what time they would be at the house and IF I didn't register Republican to have my bags backed and to be ready to move. Being 17 and leaving for college in a few months, I didn't really have anywhere to go.
I have never bothered to change my registration because I am equally disenchanted by both parties. I vote for the best person in the elections. My torture has been to tease my mother unmercifully about being a "hot-headed Republican." To this day, she thinks I switched parties because I won't discuss my politics with her and tend to play the devil's advocate.

I am Democrat born and raised but have never voted for a Democrat. I think the democratic party is now the American Communist Party. Republicans are too pro business for my liking but I feel the ACP is a much larger threat to the long term stability and prosperity of this great country.

I am a Republican because I like the platform that the republican party usually runs on. Republicans tend to be conservative minded - as I am. I am Republican because I was part of the Independent party until I wanted to be able to vote to decide who could actually run for an office (primaries) and couldn't do that when registered for the Independent party. I am Republican because my parents are Democrats.
From my experience, Democrats seem to be more liberal-minded and I do not always agree with that.

Well for me it is several reasons. First of all most republicans are not on welfare, food stamps, or have their hand out and there leg up to urinate on people that try and help them.
Republicans do not blame others for their misfortunes they accept it and move on to bigger and better things helping others along the way instead of using them to get what they want and then lifting their leg and urinating on them once they have their vote.
Republicans do not obtain oral sex from their interns while they are elected as president and then lie about it under oath when they are caught and lift their leg and urinate on the entire country while doing it.

Low taxes is my biggest reason. I graduated recently and the job market was outstanding. I credit republican tax cuts that allowed small businesses to invest and hire entry level workers.
Also, I like strict constructionist judges (such as Chief Justice Roberts) who will not try and twist what the constitution says in a liberal way. Republicans tend ot appoint this type of judge.
And there are also religious reasons (i.e. Abortion) and security reasons (i.e. Patriot Act).

5.) the 2ND amendment is the most important
