Understand that both Liberal and Socialist are not inherently evil. The Nazi's were Socialist, but many countries exist very well in Socialism. Liberals are known for being pro choice, but also known for good things like...well I know they have some good ideas too!
But are they ALL Socialist?

No. Practically none of them.

Liberals believe primarily in "securing the blessings of Liberty", as it says in the constitution. This means personal freedoms, and lack of government regulations.

Even liberal Democrats, who promote social welfare and entitlement programs ("promoting the general Welfare"), and who want high taxes to do it, don't believe in government ownership of commercial industries.

And Social Security is not socialist, nor are other federal financial handout programs. Why? Because they don't involve government ownership of commercial industries, utilities and resource production (farms, mines, etc). Look up the definition of the word 'socialism' if you don't believe me.

There is a small flank in both the liberal and conservative movements who promote socialism. But, both liberals and conservatives are opposed to the idea.

One example of a (failing) socialist policy is Social Security. It sounds good on paper, but when you have more people collecting the benefits than there are workers to support those benefits....you have the mess that we have today with that program. Socialism is based on a similiar idea- everyone gets something for free. There is no such thing as a free lunch and once you start "punishing" companies for making a profit that you don't think is fair, then those companies will do business elsewhere. ...and take the jobs with them.
Look at the Socialist countries and most of their economies are stagnant or worse.

The Nazis were not socialist. They were facists (Facisism: a philosophy or system of government that advocates a dictatorship of the extreme right, typically through the merging of state and business leadership, together with an ideology of beligerant nationalism) They banned labor unions. The fact that they called themselves National Socialists doesn't mean they were socialist, one has to look beyond the mere name and look at their actions.

Liberals are Liberals: They favor nonrevolutionary progress and reform. They do not advocate socialism --

No. They just want us to be more of a cross between socialist and capitalist. I know there are some idiots mixed in there, but if you look at socialist countries you will see that no American truly wants that to happen. We like our life style too much.

whats wrong with pro-choice? nothing. same is true for pro-life. let people do what they want.

and NO, that is an incorrect assumption. There might be one or 2 people in congress who can be defined as socialist, but thats much better than being a neo-con republican who will take donations from Jack Abramoff.

no socialism is the remnants of the utopian movement of thought in the late 18 to 19 centuries like the transendentalists in New England ,, but communes and the thought that mens labors could be pooled and the resources pooled and knowledge shared to help all mankind and lead us all to a peaceful and happy world of brothers instead of robber barons and capitolist greed thats just a monument to itself and serves not the people that make the products and they are working in wotrse and worse environments with less hope of the dream of america and no health and now less pensions and more bills from a morally bankrupt system i love america and served in the army as my forefathers did but the government that slaughters its own for no plan and to no purpose is itself pointless and the leaders arent leading they are just robbing the world and their own people of hope and a future

No, all liberals are not socialist, just me. I think this country needs some of it. Like health care and if the oil company's keep making these obscene profits they could be brought under our wing and straightened out.

Pretty much, but so are conservatives these days. They two just quibble over how much socialism is the right amount.
