What does it mean when your job says that they're going to continue the hiring process?

Are you interviewing for the job? If so, it usually means that they are going to continue looking for the "perfect" candidate.

It means they need to check references, and verify what you said in application, resume and interview.
You are not hired until they give you rate of pay and starting date.
