I lived with one of my good friends last year in a dorm and we are rooming together this year. I think she is the best person I could live with!! It made us so much closer. It may be because we are both just so laid back people and don't care about drama, competing etc. I think as long as they don't let all the drama get in the way that it will be a better experience than with a stranger. I lived with strangers two years before and I didn't have bad experiences I just didn't really like my roomates. The first one was stuck up and always came home drunk and the second one was rather rude. With strangers you never know who you are going to get.

Hello! Either situation will work. She's now an adult and living in a new social situation. All relationships eventually run into rough spots that need to be ironed out. Whether she lives with a close friend or with a stranger, she'll have the opportunity to learn about herself and to work out her relationships issues one way or the other--an important life lesson indeed!
Although your daughter and her friend are close, they are also separate and different people. If your daughter stays with her friend, maybe they can agree on some ground rules regarding privacy, noise, study and "play time", boyfriends, housework, etc.
They may find that they grow closer as friends. And if there is difficulty and they're real friends, they'll find a way to preserve their relationship.

I was going to stay with my friend however I feel as if a stranger would be better that way we won't always be around each other you can start to get irratated with a friend you already know. So I got switched with a stranger. It's also a way to meet new people. Good Luck!

I always lived with strangers. I've heard of sooooooooooo many friendships (especially between girls) that were ruined when friends decided to live together. The key is to make sure both parties have different social circles. If you're with someone 24/7, nerves start to fray.

Stranger- always.
Friendships can be ruined when you spend too much time together. If you ruin a relationship with a stranger you've lost nothing, if you become friends with this stranger then you have gained a new friend.

Every close friend that I lived with turned out bad...we always ended up fighting and were no longer friends after we moved out. I'd say it's much better with a stranger because good friends are hard to come by.

As long as they talk with each other adn be responsible of their tasks, best friend is better than a stranger. If not than she can always file a complaint and move into another dorm.

Yeah, the stranger would have been better because there might be some disagreements. But it is kind of nice that she will have her friend. I dormed with my friends (in a house) but it was fun

Close friends in that situation soon become wary of each other, jealous, secretive, and eventually hostile. Each knows secrets from the others past which they will use to control each other in this new environment.
With a stranger, you can start fresh as a presumed adult rather than a child that just got older.

personally i would like to live with a stranger
you have more time to study and you have to be responsible for the place
and main reason is that if something goes wrong with friendship, living together could become a nightmare
