Why was her acct. dumped? I understand she had inactivity, but she should have at least been given a warning that she was in danger of losing all her info in her acct. Is a heads up to much to ask?We think that would be the fair thing to do. Give people a chance to get to their acct. My wife was out of the country and had no access to a computer in the remote jungles of Thailand. Is it possible for her to get her old info back?? If not, is it possible to give fair warning of impending loss so this does not happen to others? Or are you only bound by "what the policy says", with no leeway or quarter given?

You are told how long you can be away before you are deactivated.
Yahoo cant remind all the people who leave the country
you should have signed in for her while she was away

Our gem and mineral club account hadn't been used for two years because no one was computer literate. I joined and contacted Yahoo and was able to re-instate the account. BUT, and - this is important, the account - once reactivated, must show use. Maybe you can do this if she is away for long periods again. You may have to contact Yahoo more than once to show you are serious about the re-reinstatement.

I do see your point, HOWEVER....like the first answerer stated, how would they let You know. I had a couple inactive accounts that I WAS able to re-activate. And yes, it was my own fault. Yahoo is pretty good with reminders. They will let you know, say if your Yahoo group is on the verge of deletion.

I'm sure she was. your wife must not have used her account for a good long while...meaning that she did not check her e-mail warning her that if she did not utilize her e-mail, her account would be terminated. How else would you like to have had Yahoo contact your wife? snail mail? Yahoo does not do that. they'll send you an e-mail in hopes that you will sometime soon start using your account. if you don't, you're sh*t outta luck...

yeah the same thing happened to my email. it said it inactivated because i hadnt logged onto it for 4 months. and this was yesterday i found out, so pretty recent. i couldnt log onto my email at first. i logged on with my name and then it kept redirecting me to this screen that said long on securely, or log on without secure log-on. i kept choosing the secure and it kept redirecting me to an error page. eventually, i selected to logon without the secure login and it let me check my email, but yeah after that, they wiped all my emails totally. i didnt have any of my contacts. it was frustrating for sure. id contact yahoo customer service and see what happens. thats really all u can do. sorry bro

That was covered in the agreement you read when you opened the account. Remember? All that stuff you didn't bother to read?

I think you just didn't pay attention to what was going on or you would have known your account was not in good standing. just remember, it's all good...........except for the bad part
