I started off with a 30g iPod and 45g of storage on my desktop. Recently I bought a 60g iPod and uploaded close to 40g of music before running out of space. To remedy this I bought a 100g external drive (Maxtor). I want to transfer all my music files on the external drive along with the iTunes software but do not want to do this from scratch. How can I tranfer the music files from the desktop drive to the external drive along with the iTunes settings in order to keep tags and playlists etc?
Thanks.

go to My Documents\My Music\ and copy the itunes folder to your external drive. This will copy your playlists and songs.

You can then easily import them into another computer or ipod.

if the hard drive is external than connect the hard drive to the computer and then click and drag all of the music to the other drive (where ever you want the music) and if its an internal one then i dont know as for the setting i think that you can change the music folder in the iTunes options
