You can go onto www.allexperts.com and find a legal advisor or an attorney who deals with this sort of thing. This site is free and you will not be charged at all. They have 3 days to respond. I've had responses within a few hours.

Best of luck to you!

ps: If your mother signed over all power of attorney to someone else as well as legal guardianship I don't see how she would be able to cause you problems. Did she sign over all guardian ship as well or just power of attorney? If only power of attorney you could have problems. Again, find someone on www.allexperts.com to give you proper legal advise at no charge.

Power of attorney is not enough. Unless the other woman has a court order of guardianship, you r mother is still the only LEGAL person who can answer for you. When do you turn 18, also you need to find out the age of emancipation( I think that is how you spell it). You can go to court in some states and ask the court to release you from her custody and then you are legal to answer for yourself. Good luck...

Power of attorney only gives the other person the ability to sign for your mother if you mother is not present, it does not give away any right of your mother.

If you mother objects she can order you back, void the power of attorney any time she wants. You still need your mothers permission, at this time she is merely allowing someone else to make chioces but can void that anytime she wants.

Just do it, you're 17 years old and you'll be 18 soon. What will happens to you if you get caught before you're 18. Most likely a free trip back to MI otherwise you'll be home free where ever you're moving too.

If you're worry you can emancipate yourself and then your mother and her friend can't do anything to you.

What is the age of emancipation in Michigan? If you have passed the legal age of emancipation there is nothing your mother can do about it.

But keep in mind, until you turn 18, there are going to be many doors of opportunity that will not be open to you.

Sweetheart, once you turned 17, you are Legal, Your mother could chose to file a runaway report, But there is nothing the prosecuting DA, will do about it. -

P.S. siunce your mother is not your legal guardian, she dosn't have anything to say, anyway.

Don't know about in MI, but here, whoever has legal custody is the only one who can stop you from moving.

She is still your legal guardian unless she also transfered guardianship to someone else. She can report you as a run away. you need to have yourself emancipated or talk to your mom about changing guardianship.

You have to go to court to be declared an emancipated minor.

Call your county clerk's office tomorrow morning to get in contact with someone who can help you.
