A visa is sort of like a hall pass. You just can't move to another country you have to get permission. They will want to know now long you are staying and for what reason. My husband travels a lot and needed a visa to go to Canada if staying over 30 days. Once your visa is up you will need to renew it or go home.

A visa is a document given to a passport holder that is traveling into another country. The country wherein the passport holder wishes to visit is the one granting the visa. Denial of a visa means one is not entitled to travel to that country. There are different kind of visas that are being granted, like immigrant visa, student's visa, tourist visa, fiancee visa, etc.

A visa is the document that gives you permission to be in a foreign country. It could be as simple as the stamp on your passport when you enter the country, or it could be a much more complicated process if you are planning to work in another country or stay there for an extended period of time.

A visa is a countries permission for you to enter. They usually stamp your passport with it and depending on what type of visa you get also determine how long you can stay. Call the Japanese Consulate here and see if he will grant your visa. Before you go over there. http://www.us.emb-japan.go.jp/english/html/travel_and_visa/visa/index.htm

Some countries require travel permits - that's what that is.

You can travel for tourism, education, whatever. I don't know what countries require one, but you can go to the US DEPARTMENT OF STATE website and find out - they also have health warnings, local customs, etc.
