I got mine the summer before 5th grade!!! uhhh! It was probably 2-3 months before I actually started I did feel sick once a month just for a day. My stomach hurt really bad. By coincidence I had eaten Jack-in-the-box before each time and we thought that my stomach just didn't agree with it. Finally when I started I had diarreah so when the blood came out..I thought I hadn't cleaned down there very well...and the blood was dark at first. I'm sorry you have to go through this! Just make sure you always carry something with you in case you start. Also always have a jacket to tie around you or a long shirt when you are on it..in case you have an accident.

every womens body is different.talk to different woman you trust they all will tell you something different.I had a normal day before I woke up went to the bathroom and saw it on the tissue. a first period is exciting cause anyday could be you day.

you dont get sick. the only thing that might happen is some cramping or an upset stomache maybe a headache.

I don't think so, but when I started my period I had alot of cramps and stomache aches, so it's natural if u get sick.

everybody is different but everybody that i've known never got sick before they got their first period...i didn't even know i had got my first period til I went to use the bathroom.

i don't know about the first time, but i know a few women who get sick(vomiting) during their periods.
