On the Discovery channel, they traced back the earliest man. Using DNA from all kinds of people. They wanted to see if there was a common link anywhere. Then they figured out that the first humans did come from Africa. They called her the first mother. Then they said the only reason that they had darker skin, was because they lived closer to the Equator. They needed the protection from the sun. And as people moved to cooler climates, they adapted and their skin got lighter.

Nobody knows.The oldest man that has been FOUND so far is in Africa.Some years ago it was Europe.Who knows what we will discover next that will give us a new theory.
