me & my friend from kindergarten (i know this sounds cheesy) still keep in touch by writing "pen pal" letters. we both want to know what it stands for.

It stands for "post script". Began way back before computers, typewriters, and white out. When people forgot to add something into a handwritten letter, they would add it after the conclusion and sign off of the letter with a "post" (after) note.

P.S. isn´t form english, it comes from latin and stands for Post Script, but in latin is Post Scriptum, Eventhough in other languages it is written differently, the abreviation is the same, for example in Spanish it is Pos Data but is also abreviated P.S.
