A round trip flight is less than $200, and it take only 1 hour from Miami to Nassau, Bahamas. So sure.. you can get there and back in a day -- easy.

You can do a roundtrip air from Miami for less than $200 if you book a little in advance, not go over the holidays and they have some low fares available. There are early morning flights going and you can return late in the day. You can take a boat/ferry, but it would take you too long enroute and wouldn't give you much time there. Flying is best.

You can take a day cruise from Ft. Lauderdale to Freeport for about $100 from discovery cruise line. (it's not really a cruise, more like a ferry)

sure.. dont use the hotwire or travelocity..they rip you off so bad. try spiritair.com or priceline. you should be able to get fare under 150 with all taxes. and transfers. i've done it twice from ft lauderdale
