"Why don't you take that money and invest it in something? Why don't you do that?
" Invest it in what? "
" There's wonderful land values outside of Dodge. Now why don't you go out there someplace, look around, and buy yourself a lot?
" A lot of what?"
" A lot! A lot of land!"
" Well fiddle, I can't afford to buy a lot of land. You probably could the way you've been a bilking and gouging..."
"Oh, hush up! I'm trying to help you, for heaven sakes. It don't cost a whole lot to buy a little lot."
"What do you mean it don't cost a whole lot to buy a little, or a whole lot to buy a lot, what do you mean?"
": Well, I mean,... a little lot of land! "
"But there ain't no such a thing. A little's a little, and a lot's a lot, there ain't no little lot, or lot of little, don't you see? Now you want that beer or don't you?"
"No I'm.. I'm all worn out."
" If you change your mind me and Newly will be over at the Longbranch having a whole lot of little beers."

What show is it?

This is a typical and wonderful conversation you'd hear on this show between 2 of the regulars. I love it!

Burt Reynolds was Quint Asper, my dear.
Buck Taylor was Newly. Buck also appeared in "Gettysburg," the movie. Either that or "Gods and Generals." Think it was the former.

Again with the "vintage". At least this time part of the show was in black and white.

It has been a while since I felt this old.

The show is Gunsmoke. Doc and Festus at it again.

Seriously, your questions have brought back some good memories. Thanks, you get a thumbs up.

Now I think I'll go put a DVD of Have Gun Will Travel in the player and watch an episode or two. And, thanks again.

Oh yeah, how about this one, what was Joe Fridays badge number? You do realize this could go on for a while.

Gun Smoke. Doc and Festus talking. This was the longest running western in history. Amanda Blake, Miss Kitty lives in Austin Texas. James Arness, Mat Dillon when he started the show was making $50.00 a week. Old Doc. was one of the sons of the Pioneers singing group. Dennis Weaver played the part of the deputy, but he wasn't nearly as good as the last that played this part, I can't recall his name. But he and Doc, were always in some sort of fuss or argument
