That Yahoo answers is turning into a ridiculous cesspool of ignorant activity?

I think I will drop my accounts at yahoo and get over to google, how embarassing! My family just found out I have a yahoo account.

It is becoming more & more difficult to sort through the garbage.

But there are still important questions to answer here.

Hang in.

Many questions are ignorant, but I am glad to see that there is always a voice of reason to come and calm everyone down. As for answers, I usually respect other peoples' opinions, even when it is something stupid like "let's kill all ragheads!" or the other extreme that revolves around "USA is terrorist, down with USA lol". Again, a voice of reason always acts as a rectifier of sorts. It's good to know that we're not all empty-headed.

As for simple right or wrong answers, usually in the science forums, I am a bit alarmed by how little some people know. I admit that I'm an engineer, which means that while I don't know as much about, say, literature, as an English teacher, I do know more about science than many people. Still, it is surprising how little some very vocal people know; often self-declared high school students still bear concepts that they should have long outgrown (come on, feces is not brown because of all the colors of your food mixed together...).

This phenomenom worries me as a scientist, because it reflects very badly on our education system and makes me fear for the future of science in America. I may have found out through yahoo! answers, but it is hardly limited to this forum.

it's based on insecurity for people who have no one to turn to or are afraid to ask these questions in real life your circling around mostly insecure people bent on getting more yahoo points your complaining becasue you have nothing to better to do with the few precious moments we all have in life and making a fuss do what you want your just unhappy becasue you arn't satisfied that you didn't get the answers you assumed you would get but maybe you already knew the answer if you know the one you didin't get isn't the answer you wanted

stop blaming yahoo for everything wrong for human interactions, yahoo is only a "place" of meeting, the offside of yahoo is of course human behavior at its best, rudeness and self-centerness
