ok, now I have to say this; a guy in DC once told me that Africa was a country in Europe... Talk about stupid...
Africa is a continent, the cradle of civilisation and it's actually BIGGER than the entire North-American continent!!!! that is Canada, US, + the northern part of Mexico all together!!! And yes, they have electricity, computers and other fine appliances... For godness sake people, US didn't invent civilisation!!! But maybe it raised an entire generation of educationally-challenged internet surfers...
PS: I cannot believe that the poster below me said that a native Mexican has bad English spelling therefore he's an idiot... If you don't get this, I'll not detail. And the computer present technology is based on was invented by a Romanian, and the parts in most people's comps are made in Taiwan... US just sells them...

Well Africa with a capital A is a continent containing many countries. Is that what you're looking for?The Mexican dude has the nerve to call us dummies.Look at his spelling. We invented everything about the computer you're using including the internet you prejudice ****.You're just mad because you got nabbed jumping the fence and we took the top of Texas away from you.I guess you do remember the Alamo.
I've never been to Africa but I bet it's a very cool place.I'd like to go their and smash some of these Nigerian 419 scammers though. Then I'd spend the rest of the time enjoying the beautiful countryside.
Cute and tricky question though. You got just what you wanted. At first glance your first instinct would be to say yes but if you give it a second the correct answer will come to you.Good one,you nailed alot of people with this one.So many people took it so hard. It's a joke knuckleheads.

It is not a country. I was born in Namibia, brought up in South Africa and recently stayed in Ghana for a year. It is many different countries with different governments and people as different as you would find on different continents. I visited Egypt also and it is the most beautiful place I have ever been to. Africa is a continent. So if your ancestors where savagely taken from there, and you want to visit... Go to Ghana or research thoroughly before you go. PS Africa is a CONTINENT.

Interesting question - you asked if anyone thinks Africa is a country, and some of these idiots are tearing you down as though you yourself said that it is a country (you didn't, and it's a continent).
I *am* glad to see so many who said that Africa is a continent - I guess there is a shred of hope for our educational system after all.
