How it held together for the first couple months. Most cars (like ford) parts actually fall off in the first few months - or break - or quit working. Which cars rate high for fewest problems when new. All cars have extremely high markup when new even when the claim "employee pricing" and $2,500 back. You still will lose 7 to 10 Thousand Dollars in value as soon as you sign and drive away. If something happened and you had to sell a $24,000 car in two days you get about 17 to 18,000 for it as that is the "current retail value".

Initial quality is how J.D. power index is based during the first 90 days ownership and only one car payment into 7 years of a $430.00 a month car loan the manufacture sends your address to marketing departments so you get three surveys for new car owners. In my case, New Pontiac GTO 2006 purchased March 31 during May and June I got surveys to fill out or throw away. Some company's enter you to win free car payments other gives you one dollar and the third just asks if you would fill out and return the junk mail. I do not know which was the initial quality survey.

initial quality is all about fit and finish. do all parts fit together nicely? does it work like the manufacturer claims it would? it says nothing about the vehicles longevity...

It's when a car is brand new. Not older.
