Would you join a pagent like Miss Teen America?

Question

Just wondering what's the main reason teens are into trying out for pagents like Miss Teen America? What's in it for them if they win besides a crown and some flowers and knowing you're the pretties, most talented, teen in the USA?

you feel better about yourself, and you have more self confidence. I entered a miss hawaiin tropic pagenat and got 2nd runner up(a huge trophy) and best suit. After that I felt better about myself, I feel like, I know I'm beautiful, If I wasn't, I wouldn't have gotten the medals. That's part of why I'm glad I got the stuff. Cause if I didn't, I think I would think I was hideous and my self asteam would probably drop pretty low. Infact, I hated smiling, intill I had to do it infront of ppl. Since I have crooked teeth, I thought my smile was ugly. But me coming close to winning, told me smile was beautiful, and trophy worthy. Plus I like Pageants. Infact, I'm going to another sometime this month or next month.Plus it's not 'just' a crown, or flowers. It's knowing that you got chosen, out of lots of girls, and either came close to being the best, or won. Knowing that if you were the nerdy girl, then hey, you've got something to brag about. You have something that maybe one of the popularist girls doesn't have. It makes you feel better. So don't talk about pageants that way! no offense, I just dont like ppl talking about stuff I really enjoy.

Because having the title "Miss Teen America" is a special thing. It's not just a crown and flowers, it's just for fun and it's a great honor to be named the prettiest teen in America.

All the attention and the title, the travel and the money. Join if you feel you are competition but beauty comes from within. :)
