I think a Black president that did a good job could SIGNIFICANTLY reduce stereotyping of all races from around the world. It could help with a lot of issues both at home, and abroad. What do you all think? Respectful criticism only please.

If a Black leader could put the racism aside and work for a better tomorrow, people would support him and views of all people of color would get better, I think. Maybe someday we will realize ALL people who have fought for this country and its freedoms bled the same color. RED!!!!

If it was the candidate like you said, why have so few minorities or women ever gotten close to presidency or even nominated for one? It is because race DOES matter when it comes to this. It would be the biggest news of the century if a minority were to get sponsored to run by one of the major parties.

That works for me, and I sunburn real easy and can't jump. The trick is to get a fully qualified person nominated and then elected, and he'd better be Superman because a lot of people will be watching for him to fail.

Now, who you got in mind?

I don't think race has anything to do with it, and I can't see a black president having any effect on sterotyping all races around the world. The presidency should go to the most qualified person, no matter what the race or sex. With so many problems in the world, I would be hesitant to encourage any huge changes in the presidency...it would cause an awful lot of controversy, and could be further divisive of the country. We need everyone to come together and work together.

Same as always, it depends on the candidate, not the race, gender, etc... Personally, I'd love to see John Conyers Jr. run and win. I'm sure there are plenty of people on the other side of the political aisle who'd love to see Colin Powell or Condaleeza Rice run and win.

It doesn't matter if the American President is Black, White, Asian or Latin. As long as he's responsible in taking care of business in the nation, everyone will back him up.

It'd be cool to see what changes, but I doubt anything would. Condi's in the political spotlight more often than the vice president these days, and that really doesn't change anything.
