Online Relationship?

We'd been BFF's for a year online then it became more. We mboth dumped our 'other' and we exchange phone calls and I love you's now. He doesn't consider it BF and GF because he doesn't think you can have one online with school, etc. So he says were 'in love' but IDK does he want one or not? He loves me but is he afraid of commitment or is is that hes just not experiences in online ships that he thinks that its not possible/

Human relationships that have the possibility to develop into life-long partnerships are the hardest events with which most people have to deal. Open and honest communication is the key and the best method to allow people to get close.

Although on-line relationships often develop into Romance attachments, seldom do people find themselves in a long term loving relationship without person to person contact. Too much of the non-verbal communication is lost and filled in with assumptions.

It sounds like he is keeping his options open. You would be wise to do the same, especially if the two of you have never met in the flesh.

Sad truth - he is messing with your head.

Someone who is in love with you would respect you enough to either formally acknowledge you as is girlfriend, or stop stringing you along. If he is afraid of online relationships, he shouldn't have started one.

Tell him that you've figured all this out, and that you're going to start looking for a full time, in person boyfriend. Then do it.

if you arent seeing eachother in real life, then it can turn very unhealthy. its fine to make friends online and even to meet people to date, but if your entire relationship is online, it won't be a healthy relationship. I have a friend who has had several online only relationships, and it has really screwed her up. now she doesnt n\know how to act in a "real" relationship. so i would advise against it.
