lwhy dose my computer keep redialing?

when I try to go on line ,or get mail my computer redials alot sever said not there fault, computer tec. and $45 say it is there fault??? then computer becomes very slow

C) Defective modem

Hang a phone off that wire. Is there static, background noise, crosstalk?

Do you have a spare phone wire? If a wire gets trampled or damp or furniture sitting on it, it can get flaky.

Some modems are better than others. If nothing else pans out, you could try this.

You probably have a Dialer Virus. It dials numbers over and over again, until someone removes it.
