I wouldn't advise getting advice on such a serious matter from a site like this .

Only if you actually did take part in it. I doubt your testimony would make any difference if you already have a criminal past history. What would your motivation be? To help society, or to get back at someone, or worse yet, to make yourself look like something you aren't? I guess if you are serving a life term, you don't have anything else to do! Haven't you been abused enough in your life? How would this "confession" help or hinder your quality of life, no matter where you lay your head at night?

So how can you tell the guilty is actually guilty since the only way you seem to have to bring the "guilty" down is by handing yourself over to the police-who has not committed a crime? Does it not make you think?

No, never admit to a crime you didn't commit. Even if you later say hey I was just saying that you have given evidence and it may hold water. There is always a better way then setting your ownself up. It is sad you would say you have nothing better to do with your life right now. If thats true maybe you should start there.

Only a fool does the time for another man's crime. There are other ways to bring down the guilty without damning yourself, especially if you are innocent of any wrong-doing.

How does confessing to a crime you did not do bring down the guilty?

If you know who is guilty report them to the police and let the police obtain genuine evidence to put them away.

Confessing a crime entails accepting you are not innocent, how can the confession of a crime which is not yours bring punishment to those you commited it in the first place. ?
Why not report it to the authorities ?
The decison is yours, I cannot decide for you.

are you stupid? never take the blame for something you didn't do, thats just bastardizing the system. if your so self destructive get in therapy, or better yet stop feeling sorry for yourself and do something with your life. there must be a homeless shelter, old age center, or hiv clinic near you, donate your (supposedly) worthless life to helping those really in need.

I think you owe it to to who ever this person did wrong to, to come forward and report them to the proper authorities. If not, then you are, inadvertently, an accomplice by knowing who did it and not coming forth with it. If it where you, you would want someone to come forward if they knew who did you wrong. Do the right thing and come forward, but not for revenge.......Do it because it's the right thing to do!

Why would you want to go to jail for someone else? My brother was crazy enough to do that and all it got him was seven years and an angry daughter.
