Is it possible to lose the color pigments in your eyes?

I've been wondering for some time now. Please give me the answer.

Over time, the color can fade, for example, when I was a baby I had bright blue eyes, now they are more blue-greyish tone.. Im not sure if this is the answer to your question, but I hope it helps in SOME way! :]]
