OK, I have good voice and I can speak very well, but the thing is, I have sort of a Stammer and a stutter and sometimes eat my words. I mean, it's not too severe, I don't stutter too much, it just happens a little more when I speak. And I dont like it. I don't talk too fast nor too slow.. What are some techniques I can do to improve my speech?? I have two college degrees, Taken speech classes.. and made presentations... I sound "OK" but I want to be better without having to stammer or stutter or eat my words. What can I do? help please.

I want to sound more professional like a news anchor..

ketucky, i told you I've taken speech courses already, they dont evaluate you by the way you speak, mostly if you can make eye contact and present your topic without looking. I can do those things, but i sometimes stutter.

i'm a dj something that helps is reading a book or a page backwords giving each word it's time! when you studder or walk over words your thinking to fast! and your actions are trying to keep or get up with your head!
practice reading out load more and more frequent at least 30 minutes a day!
record your self and list to yourself as well and see if your speaking faster when you studder!
good luck

My son stuttered when he was small and I read a book that said not to complete his sentences for him, not to tell him "It's o.k., take your time," and not to make a big deal out of it. My husband and I treated him as if he didn't have any kind of problem and spoke to him normally. We waited for his answers, but didn't act like we were "waiting." He got over his stuttering within a few months.

Even though you are grown, you might want to tell your friends, family and close coworkers the above. It might help you work through your speaking challenges without anyone trying to "help."

Sometimes thinking about a favorite actor... especially old, good ones (like ian mckellan), and thinking about how they talk, can give you some inspiration to slow your words down and stay cool, if you don't know exactly where your sentence is taking you. I have the same exact problem to be honest...
