In the 8 semesters I have been buying books online, I have found there is not "one place" that is magical for buying books online.

The "book search engines" like bigwords, campusi are where I ususally frequent. Also, I look at amazon and half.com.

I would personally check around everywhere, including eBay. Keep shipping and time in mind. It might not be worth waiting a week to save $10.

Also, if you haven't purchased your textbooks online, I would be cautious. 1) Get the ISBN's, not the title, edition, etc.. 2) Watch out for paperback editions. When new books are selling for half of what they go for at the bookstore, then that's the reasoning. I am a fan of hardcovers since paperbacks get destroyed easily.

Other then that, just shop around and good luck!

amazon, I even get all my textbooks used there. I ordered books that were used but still in excellent condition, getting a $20 art history book that at my school bookstore was $80 used.

Check both amazon and half.com
Sometimes 1 is cheaper, sometimes the other. It depends on what you are looking for.
