I already have idvd installed and have a canopus110 converter.

Use iMovie, Quicktime Pro, FCP, or any other video capture software. Connect the D/A converter to your computer via firewire, and make sure your DIP settings are correct on the bottom of the converter. If you're using the converter for DV Sync, then you have to make sure you have the converter as the source.

You have to have a camera too. Also, iDVD isn't for recording video. That's what iMovie is for.
