what should be restricted in the workplace?

My company does! And although there is no one at work I WANT to date I think the policy is unfair! I can see if dating is among subordinates.. managers dating clerks etc. And I can see if one can gain favorable treatment by dating someone at work, like a salesman dates the receptionist and thereby gets more leads.. but I think folks in unrelated positions, or parallel positions, should be allowed..it should be none of the companies business. and heck, we all work so much these days where else are we going to meet people? Maybe companies can start banning friendships at work.. after all if I'm a salesperson and my best friend is the receptionist...... well, you get the idea!

I think companies shouldn't have a formal dating policy for one thing, you can meet the most perfect person who works with you. Although, people might go crazy and what not haha. What should be restricted is their publicity about their romance!
