With a poli sci degree you'll be qualified for nothing, but have the potential to do everything

If you think you need to major in Poli Sci to become a lawyer or congressperson, you don't need to. If you are totally devoted to the study of politics and government systems and want to go on for a post-grad degree, work for a university and be a researcher; then, yeah, great.
I majored in Poli Sci and Communication and worked behind the scenes for campaigns. I don't think Poli Sci has really helped me or hurt me in any way. Other people were just off the street or bio majors.
Find something you like that leads to a job. That's all I can really suggest.

I majored in Poli Sci, I'm finishing my Masters in Public Administration, took a year of law school, and plan to get a doctorate in International Relations to become a diplomat. I'd say poli sci is one of the most versatile degrees you can get, IF you plan to get an advanced degree on top of it. Its not like an engineering degree that you can use right after graduation, it takes time, but the pay offs are big.

regrettably, no. i'd get a coaching certification. detect a considerable that gets you a activity, or greater useful yet, basically get qualified to do some thing at a community college. flow to a smaller college and get a company degree, accounting is greater useful. you might have a 4-3 hundred and sixty 5 days degree and a considerable that gets you respected at any business enterprise. lots of the bigger faculties are basically liberal paintings degree generators. while you're unlucky to graduate with those stages, you're suitable off transforming into a member of the militia as an officer, even enlisting isn't undesirable. Police departments would be very open to hiring you, as long as you reside in shape. administration interior the retail and eating place sectors would be a competent place to seem too. There are numerous opportunities too in transforming into a corrections officer. you additionally can coach, it is not no longer person-friendly in any respect to be a replace instructor, and you gets your coaching certification in case you opt for for at a similar time as you're doing it. The financial device will swing back up quickly, fortunately, which you would be fortunate.

I don't know. Do you know what you want to do? If you have something specific in mind, then it depends. For example, if you know you want to get into business, you many want to pursue a more "businessy" major (economics, accounting, etc.)

If you're not sure what you want to do and you enjoy political science, go ahead and major in it. College majors don't matter as much as some people believe they do. If you have a liberal arts major (anything humanities, psychology, arts, some sciences) then you will be qualified to at least apply for most jobs.

Basically, major in what you enjoy and are good at. When the companies come for their job fairs, they'd often rather have someone with a 3.4 in political science than someone with a 2.2 in microbiology.

Best of Luck!

Not really! It is like having a degree in psychology! They only degree that really counts in that field is a Psy. D!

If you intend to go further in school it is fine. It is hard to even get elected with a bachelor's, you have to have at least a master's and most are lawyers!

Depends on what you want to do, but I'd say no. My brother did and he's bounced around for quite some time before he found himself a really good job in finance. It's not really useful unless you plan to teach or go to law school.
