Speak and Spell--wow that brings back memories.
Yes I did have one of those. And yes, that robotic voice did sound a bit demonic.

I had a speak and spell (red one) an speak and read (yellow one) and some sort of math one (it was blue)....
i thought the voice was cool!

i loved that thing. especially the voice. you probably had some bad experience with a robot or something when you were little and you associate it with that. maybe a scary movie with robots in it.

Yes, and the little owl who helped with math. I wish I still had it for my daughter. Your right, it is one of those voices you don't forget, but educational none the less.

i had one but it was broken. so it would speak one thing and spell another! to this day, i still can't read.
