I don't play much as far as games go, but I like to have a PS2 around for those late nights sometimes. I got lucky and my first game was Silent Hill 4 - The Room. Hard to beat that. I prefer mature rated games, all within the same level of creepiness as The Room. Pref. played in the first person. (I have tried the other Silent Hill games, but they were very hard to maneuver the character...gave up.) I also like a game where you don't have to follow one particular path, but are able to make your own decisions, as in - the game revolves around the choices you make. Any suggestions?

a couple of creepy games that i have played are resident evil 4 and the suffering and both are on ps2 so you can play them on yours.

My first fuggestion would obviously be the sillent hill series, however, your right, and the game play can be very frustrating since the controllers are weird.
I would definitelly recommend resident evil 4. this game eliminated the frustrating game play of the previous resident evil games (like sillent hill) and offers a lot of acction.
The sillent hill series provides a more kind of psycholygical kind of scarynes, but the ressident evil provides a more action like kind of creapyness, with huge bosses, many zombies coming from all directions and just trying to fight to stay alive. this game is a 5 star.

Doom 3. I have not played Halflife 2, however the orginal had a masterful use of enviroment to create frighting situations, great ambiance.

try to play any horror game alone with no lights, something like the suffering, resident evil(except 4, it isn't scary), cold fear(don't know there is for PS2). and you may hire somebody to frighten you
