I have a 1998 Plymouth Breeze. I was trying to find information on how many miles per gallon my car takes and I found this info.

Fuel economy EPA highway (l/100km): 6.4
61 liter fuel tank

How many liters are in a gallon?

And can you translate the EPA thing for me...what does it mean?

The EPA stands for the Environmental Protection Agency, a department of the U.S. government. All cars are subjected to analysis for gas mileage by the EPA for many reasons. The sad thing is that the EPA mileage tests are performed in a laboratory where there is no wind resistance on a machine that does not simulate the friction losses at the tire/pavement interface, and where highway speed is defined at 55 miles per hour. Because of this these numbers should never be looked at as the actual mileage you'll receive. In real world driving you will get 60-70% of the EPA stated mileage figures if your lucky. My 1999 Neon was EPA rated at 33city/ 50 hwy. In L.A. where freeways move at 80, when their moving, I'm getting 25city/34 hwy. I have coaxed it to 28city/36 hwy but received more single finger salutes than a KKK march through downtown Compton. Parasitic losses described above would be greater on high profile vehicles (SUV's) so in this class of vehicle your looking at the lower end of the percentage range cited above. So when you don't get the EPA rated mileage you think you should be, there is nothing wrong with your new vehicle, nor your driving habits probably.

1 liter = about a 1/4 gallon (4 liters = 1 gallon)
