they jump at the chance to criticise white men who are easy targets and not protected by political correctness but never say a word about islam, a society in which women are not only considered and treated as inferior but often given beatings for disobeying their husbands. love to know why!

I've seen quite a few feminists that work against the sexism of moslem societies. In fact, one disturbing trend in Afghanistan is the renewed suppression of women. I think most women in the US and western Europe focus on the societies they are in.

They do. There are several dozen books dedicated to the subject and hundreds of articles in various feminist magazines examining and evaluating the impact of Islam on feminism. The Muslim male has been criticised very harshly by feminists for their treatment and perceived abuse of their women. Islam has been investigated and researched exhaustively by feminist writers. Without understanding there can be no knowledge.
However Feminism isn't high on the reading list of most men of any race or religion. They just don't care.

I have wondered about that too. Seriously, I doubt there is an answer. I also wondered where Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton et al were when the arab muslims were, and I guess still are, slaughtering and taking into SLAVERY all those people in the southern Sudan? Jackson and the rest sure raised hell for years over apartheid and Mandella. But I haven't heard a word about the atrocities committed by the muslims against the Africans. Like Arsenio used to say: It makes you go "hmmmm."

***why dont feminists ever criticise muslim
men for their oppression of muslim women? ***

I see a fracture, maltreatment of women is a universal
concern. It is women in general on this planet that suffer at the hands of the males of this species. This planet will not be at peace until the feminine aspect dominates as it has done in the past. What Mother wants the fruit of her loins decimated and savaged for no apparent reason? None! It would just be too easy, no matter how true it is,to lay this at the feet of religion.
The fault is ours, the fix is ours and no immaterial stuff is going
to help us.

If you would like to see the many talk shows, magazine articles, public and private symposiums, scholarly articles, and newspaper articles that have been devoted to the issue of how feminists feel about the treatment of women by the Muslim culture, you could start with the 590,000 documented on Google.

Feminists "never" criticize muslims? That seems like a little broad of a label, don't you think? There are plenty of groups that work for human rights and sex equality. You just probably aren't hearing about them because it's not one of the more interesting media stories.
