Bad enough to train HARD, drive an hour away to drive the course, plan my training based on that, get my weight down to racing weight, to train in the later morning when it is a bit warmer so that when the race is at 7am and cooler it won't seem so hard, to schedule a sports massage three days before, to taper properly knowing that I won;t get any faster or improve my endurance any this week, what is done is done and I need to rest my muscles now.

I believe in bleeding in practice, so I merely sweat in the race. Luck has NOTHING to do with it, so I won't expect you to wish me luck.

It is not that I want to WIN, to beat someone else, I want to WIN for ME, a good time for me.

I want it. Can you tell?

Is winning that important? If everyone wins, there won't be a need for a judge. Anyway there are different situations on whether to win or lose.

In a contest, to me, winning is not important, rather its the effort one puts into the competition. If that person has already tried their best and yet loses, he is already a winner, there's no need for a trophy to prove it.

Okay I see you need a smart woman to answer this. Winning is nothing. It's how you go about getting there plus what you are winning. I'd rather take my time and enjoy whatever it is I'm trying to win. If I don't win then no biggy. There are plenty more challenges to enjoy and try to win....

i get so competitive that i would be willing to put my life in danger, in high school a new coach that i respected saw how motivated i was, more than with any other coach, then he called me over to another group of P.E. students with another coach by and told me to run the lap and i did the whole thing without stoping and faster than the other kids, i didnt even know i could do it but for me to do something it just takes the right coach, and he STILL wouldnt let me play soccer with the boys >:(, when he retired i felt betrayed but now i know that PEOPLE NEED A BRAKE now im up to doing 5 laps without stoping at about 4 mph
