They're in the folder:
Start / (all) Programs / Microsoft Office
Right click on the folder 'Microsoft Office' select open, then press control + A (select all) press control + select 'microsoft office tools' (deselect) press control + c (copy) close/minimise your windows, find a blank area of your desktop right click the desktop & select paste. All the icons will be copied without that annoying 'shortcut to' prepended to the begining of the programs shortcut.

Or if the default document Icons have changed do this:
In my computer select TOOLS / FOLDER OPTIONS / File Types

Reset the icons on the appropriate applications

If you need to select the icon, they are in the .exe in office in program files.

If you did not get these icons on your desktop when you installed the program, click Start, Programs.
Locate one of the programs.
Right-click it and click "create shortcut."
If the shortcut is created on the list of programs, drag it over to the desktop or cut/paste the shortcut to the desktop.
Repeat for the rest of the programs.
