I get both sides of the story, I don't comment or choose sides I talk to both of them and get their versions then I go to the other friend and explain that this friend heard or saw this and ask them to maturely go to the other friend and talk this sence out usually it resolves itself...

well it sounds like in future you will keep your gob shut, the best thing you can do is to not talk to any of them about the matter & hope it just blows over, or instead of you being pig in the middle you could be the out cast,

my friend once locked me and this other girl in a room and made sure we couldn't get out until we were friends. Personally i hated it but it worked.
