Back in the olden days (the 80's) there was a t.v. show called "21 Jump Street". Johnny Depp was made there as a pretty boy. His success is in being able to become the character that he is portraying. He's not so cute anymore when you see him in his normal mode, but boy, when he's Captain Jack, look out! Even then, it's not his looks so much as the charm and personality.

I love his acting - Dead Man's Chest was great.
My mom thinks he's one of the hottest things since sliced bread.
Me? I think it depends on the picture. Sometimes he is and sometimes he really ISN'T...
He's a man that I wouldn't term cute. It's too tame a word. Besides - no MAN wants to be called cute! He's dashing... attractive. I think it's the fact that his looks are far from ordinairy that women find him so attractive. The pirate fantasy helps as well - have you seen Terri Clark's video for "Girl's Lie Too?"
