what do you mean what is it for? it is a branch of science. if the class is called "physical science" it may be a combination of sciences including thoses such as physics (where you learn about forces and constants like gravity, velocity, and other basics. it can be math heavy at times) and earth science (where you'll learn about rocks, minerals, plate tectonics, water cycle, etc.) however, i am not entirely sure, i went to highschool years ago. but i went to highschool in ny and we had regents.

It a basic overview of science. Why a candle burn, distillation, atoms, molecules. Kind of a warm up for next level science courses. Don't sweat it. Take it day by day, it's easy you'll see.

Hopefully to expand the very limited grasp of the word that the youth of today has.., and ,actually always has had.

physical science is stuff like physics, biology and chemistry. the stuff you can do stuff in.

obviously to learn the hidden to the most side of nature.(physis in ancient greek means nature)
