I'm just curious to know how many people think Colbert is a Republican or its just a spoof on the Republican party?

I know exactly what you mean.. haha When he first started his show there seemed to be a lot of republicans on here talking about how great he was and how they agree with him on most issues.. Cracked me up.. I think by now the overwhelming majority of them should know he is not.. I'd hope anyways..

I seriously doubt that Stephen Colbert is a Republican, especially after how he lambasted President Bush during the White House press correspondence dinner. He went way beyond joking, to down right condescension. Look up Stephen Colbert on Ytube.com and you will see what I am referring to. His comical dissertation on the blunders of the Bush administration is witting and scathing.

Its a spoof - but he's such a good actor that its sometimes hard to tell.

He plays his character Stephen Colbert so well, but sometimes you can see the 'real' Stephen Colbert - who definitely is not conservative [at least no where near as conservative as The Stephen Colbert] - in interviews or speeches [such as the one at the White House Press Dinner].

He's just a spoof. Did you see his interview on 60 minutes?

It's a spoof.

I read an interview with him one time where he talked about how challenging it was to play a conservative demagogue. But he does a great job at it.
