You've got to insure that your intake of milk and cheese products are not you're only diet. Cheese is one of the worst constipater. If you eat bread then use the whole grain bread. Eating oatmeal is fine and it's good for you're heart. Vegatables and fruit is fine. If you eat all these fibrous items and you seem to still have a problem then ask your doctor for stool loosen prescription. Prior to that ask him if there's something that could be causing the constipation. Maybe you're not taking in enough fluids. You're intestinal track may not be functioning correctly. A good regimen of a balanced diet is a good suggestion. You're doctor probably has a list of good items that will help. Listen to him well. Good luck.

Eat plenty of fiber. Whole grain cereals, breads, plenty of fruit and drinking a lot of water will help. Also, you can take an over-the-counter stool softener (unless you're completely against any type of pill). They'll have you regular in days.

I have IBS and my DR. recommends 3 times a day a serving of Citrucel. I also take benefiber chewables....I like them over the Citrucel. Start watching the labels on the things you buy and check the fiber content. Fresh fruits and vegies help as well.
