Many of the neo-con positions are easier to attack on the merits.

Many liberal positions are based on the concepts of liberty and personal choice. Since those concepts cannot be attacked directly, and since most people I've seen don't have rational arguments on the merits of the issues, that leaves mud-slinging and name-calling.

It's the same on both sides, though liberals tend to get beaten up more by conservatives, because liberals tend to more often respect points of few that are different than theirs, while their opponents tend to hate anything or anyone that contradicts them. A generalization, to be sure, but it shows up statistically as you've noticed.

I think in general all politicians are ridiculous. I think it is safe to say most Americans are middle of the road. I think both sides are extreme in the bashing. Liberals just seem to be so fake and act like the elite. Even though they seem to represent the working man. Problem is Bush sold the working man down the river and Clinton took all their money. America needs help.

I don't count how many there are. I just pay attention to the fact that there are idiots on both sides of the political fence who "ask" questions which aren't really questions at all but merely an insane rant masquerading as a question. Both sides do it. Both sides do it with ugliness.

It's the paranoia showing.
Have you noticed that uneducated, illiterate, ignorant neighbourhoods have more noise, graffiti and litter in the streets?
