What's going on? It's like some sort of strange paradox...

I agree with you Jay, I think the Blue will fold (as always) and the Halos can't keep the pace either...

The Dodgers are running on all cylinders right now. They broke a team record set in 1899 by winning 16 of 17 games tonight. They don't have competition that clearly outclasses them in the NL West. They have gotten quality performances from Penney, Lowe, Maddux, Billingsley, Saito, in pitching and from all their players in fielding. They have a reasonable lead on the Padres and the D'Backs, so I think they look pretty solid for the NL West. The Angels have a tough row to catch the Athletics who just schooled them in a 3 game series in Anaheim at the beginning of the month. When you look at them, the A's don't match up to the Angels or Rangers but nobody seems to have told them. I don't think the Angels will catch the Athletics, unfortunately.

Yes, the Dodgers went out at the deadline and improved their club with Maddox, Lugo and Betemit. The Angels stood pat and I think that's going to be a mistake in the long run.

If the Dodgers can continue to win 2 of 3 they'll run away with the West. I'm beginning to feel that they're not going to fold this year..

THINK BLUE!!!

It certainly looks that way right now. I don't see how the Dodgers can stay as hot as they are now much longer, but if they stay hot for 2-3 more weeks, they may already be in the playoffs. The Angels must turn it around very soon or they will the watching Oakland in the playoffs.

Yes. The Dodgers have the best talent in a weak division while the Angels don't have the best talent in their division and right now are up against a red hot Oakland team that is threatening to run away from the rest of the division.

I think the Dodgers have a better chance because they've been winning consecutive games and that increase their chance for a spot in postseason. As long as they don't cough up the games and that they do a good job, it can happen pretty much.

Right now, yes. The Halos can't keep pace with the A's.

i think the Dodgers have a much better chance. their hitting is better, and they are in an easier division. The A's will win the West.

Given their recent trades to acquire some more quality pitching I'd say yes. However they usually fold in the stretch, historically speaking. Therefor I give the Angels my vote.
