yup geocities is free there's many free web hosting sites only problem is you get slow service and pop up ad's.... but in most cases that's fine... just do a google search for free webhosting *woops should i say yahoo search :D*
maybe do a search on both :p

Most sites offer a free option...but it provides very little storage and bandwidth...make the site and then just see how it goes to see if you need extra bandwidth/storage/flexibility...if so you can always buy more of each...
