The Answer is -8

FIRST RULE OF ORDER:
Work inside Parentheses, Brackets, and Braces FIRST. Work the inside most sets first to the outer most sets.

d+(c * [ {n*a}/b])

In this case, "n*a"' is done FIRST, "/b" Second, "c*" third, and "d+" done last.

NOTE: I only used "a" "b" "c" "d" as example letters, It doesn't mean that you always work with "a" first, "b" next, etc. You are working the INSIDE set first { } then work the next set [ ] and so on. Make sure you are completing/solving each SET using the Rules of Order.

OPERATIONS RULE OF ORDER:
* Powers and Roots done FIRST (in order left to right)
* Multiplication and Division done NEXT (in order left to right)
* Addition and Subtraction done LAST (in order left to right)

=======

-3(12) - [ 5(-4) - 2^3]
-3(12) - [ 5(-4) - 8] Powers done First In Bracket
-3(12) - [ -20 - 8] Multiplication Next In Bracket
-3(12) - [ -28] Addition/Subtraction Last in Bracket

-36 - [ -28] No Powers, so Multiplication OUTSIDE Bracket
-36 + 28 Addition/Subtraction
(Note: when you SUBTRACT a NEGATIVE, it becomes a POSITIVE.)

Example:
-36 (-1[-28]) becomes -36 +28

YOUR ANSWER = -8 (negative Eight)

(That is provided you have written your problem properly)

Just remember the rules of order of operations and you will do okay.

P.S. If the "To the Power of 3" is OUTSIDE the bracket, then rework the problem yourself in order, working inside the bracket FIRST and then multiply that number by itself 3 times.

Hope This Helps!
