You might ruin a few pair of jeans this way, but have you tried bleaching your jean completely in a strong solution to thin the material? It would be cool if you broke it down so much it didn't behave like denim anymore! Once they're bleached out you could die them in Easter egg colors! Doesn't that sound festive?

Tie die or bleach them!
Tie the legs in all sorts of knots and get a water gun filled with bleach and squirt them.
Let them hang dry if you don't like the design redo but with several different buckets of dye make a matching outfit.
only dip certain section in each color.
Cut the bottoms seam off the pants and when you wash them they will frazzle at the bottom.

A cheese grater on the fine side makes jeans look distressed.

I remember people wearing jeans that they shot bb through. Just get some one who is a good shot, and hang them in a tree or on a clothes line and fire away.

try a fork lol or a jagged rock,
wood carving tools <-- some dollar stores have a tiny set not good quality for wood carving but i'm sure it would do wonders on a pair of jeans...
a lighter or a wood burner for designs...
food coloring !!!
that's all i can think of
Mad luv

wire brush.
run 'em through your bike gear--interval holes.
fingernail clippers-crescent holes.
sand paper- raise up a new texture
Clip the vertical threads of fabric and pull them out up about two inches and let them hang free and loose over the horizontal ones.
If you promise to be careful: use a steam iron and burn a hole in the jeans.

My friend uses like those hard, rock surfaces that you use to rub on your feet on like caluses (sp?). He said thats what he used and it looked pretty good on his jeans, but who knows, he could have been just trying to impress me haha

umm... i saw this on tv once. you can put something in the pocket, and then iron over it. like, a wallet. put it on one of the pockets, and then iron right over it. it gives you the look as if the wallet has its own place in the jeans.
