The lithium-ion batteries being recalled are installed in 4.1 million laptops sold between April 2004 and July 18 of this year. According to Dell, the laptops with which the batteries were sold were the Latitude D410, D500, D505, D510, D520, D600, D610, D620, D800 and D810; the Inspiron 6000, 8500, 8600, 9100, 9200, 9300, 500m, 510m, 600m, 6400, E1505, 700m, 710m, 9400 and E1705; and the Precision M20, M60, M70 and M90 mobile workstations; and the XPSTM , XPS Gen2, XPS M170 and XPS M1710.

it maynot be dell have put up a list of the battery that are defective there also having a good deal on >>>>>>>>dell laptops none can be more hot then dell laptop they come with anti virus & firewall and when the dell laptop goes on fire the firewall cant even put the fire out that why they call it a hot laptop from the one & only dell you should have buy from hp computers

According to Dell, only these models' batteries are subject to their recall program:

Latitude: D410, D500, D505, D510, D520, D600, D610, D620, D800, D810
Inspiron: 500M, 510M, 600M, 700M, 710M, 6000, 6400, 8500, 8600, 9100, 9200, 9300, 9400, E1505, E1705
Precision: M20, M60, M70, M90
XPS: XPS, XPS Gen2, XPS M170, XPS M1710

Therefore, not your Inspiron 630M.

The battery is located on the bottom. There is a latch with an arrow on it, pull or push the latch and pull the battery out. Click the link below and follow the directions to find out if your battery is included in the recall.

Basically go to their website or any news site and see if your model number is underneath the recalled laptops...if it is...then its a wise decision to send in the battery...if not...I'd still recommend calling Dell and verifying
