Give that baby a toy to look at or a mirror to be memorized with, throw those legs up, wipe it and wrap it up!
LOL!

Why was this reported? People are strange.
Anyway, what sometimes works for me is I give my son a diaper to hold. He'll lay there and chew on it for the few seconds that it takes me to get him changed.
Sometimes nothing works, though, and I have to ask his Daddy to hold him down.
And sometimes, like someone else mentioned, I'll let him go without a diaper for a few minutes. My pediatriction actually suggested that I try to do this once a day, and whenever I can, like when we're outside, or I can put a great big thick towel under him, let him go bare-bottomed for longer because he sometimes gets heat rash where his diaper covers him, since it's pretty hot here.

Give the baby something to play with. A toy or something unusual like a empty water bottle. Just to keep the baby's attention for a moment.
Always prepare before you start. So that you won't fumble around. I also put the clean diaper under the one I am trying to change , I open the daiper, wipe, put the wipe in the dirty diaper, pull it form under the baby, fold it, and then pull the clean one up and seal it. I have a 16 month old and it works for me I hope it works for you...Good Luck

Yes guys change diapers too! The best way is to hold both feet with one hand and lift their butt just off the ground. This may seem awkward or or uncomfortable for the baby but it is much more awkward for the adult. If you use old fashion pins, remove them before you lift (but leave the diaper on). If you use disposables release the sticky tabs before you lift. Lift the baby up a bit remove diaper, wipe, clean, powder, place new diaper before setting back down. Lower baby fasten diaper. Always have things prepared before hand! Always use a towel or changing mat to avoid messes!
You can get pretty fast too. I could change a diaper in about 30 seconds.

I think all babies do this at some point. They don't want to sit still...even for a mere 30 seconds to have their poopy diaper changed. :)
With my two boys, I'd give them something out of the ordinary to play with--something they didn't see on a regular basis and were bored with. Usually I'd hand them the tube of diaper cream (just make sure the baby doesn't open it!) or a special toy that was kept only in the changing table so that they couldn't play with it all the time and become used to it, the clip that I used to hook their pacifier to their tshirt to keep them from throwing it...basically anything that's new or different to them that they don't see often.

i have to hold onto my son's ankles to lift his legs so i can wipe his little butt, and this sometimes keeps him from turning over. or i give him a toy to distract him and make sure there are no toys nearby that he may try to roll over and get. i also tell him no when he tries to roll during diaper changes. he is a very good baby and i don't usuallly have a problem. but i have seen people change their babies standing up and i don't doubt i will soon be doing that too. after his butt is clean i sometimes let him roll around with a naked butt, just to air everything out. it probably gets stuffy in that wet diaper all day! and he has such a cute little butt!

Suggest to your cousin to let her daughter hold something like a soft book, toy or stuffed animal. My son was king of this too at this age. I made a small basket of items just for diaper changing & would hand him an item from it before I laid him down. I always used a changing pad, blanket or old towel underneath him too. I'd rotate the basket items weekly so he would stay interested in them at diaper changing.

Truthfully, I'd put baby wipes under my son's bottom or a changing pad so when I took the diaper off it wouldn't make too much of a mess.
As soon as he started walking I used easy ups so I could put them on him while he was standing, this was so much easier.

Why did that woman report you-very odd! Anyway, I have a very wriggly 8 month old and I make sure I have a whole bunch of distractions like books or toys or things I don't usually give her but she loves like the soup ladle or tupperware and I also sing. Hope some of those work for your cousin-good luck!

Toddlers are funny as all get out and clearly she has a fun game she plays with mom so as long as it is fun, its going to keep on happening.
She can try scolding her, but generally what works best is to be fast about it. If mom knows its going to be a messy one, change her in the tub. That way you can avoid the mess getting anywhere its hard to clean, and you can hose down baby.
Anyway...you learn how to be fast, you learn not to laugh. In a month or two she can negotiate a truce...stay still and you can have a cookie...or something else..etc.
Or she can just make it clear its not okay and stop giggling.

My son is terrible about this! We have found that if we have a toy (or sometimes the TV remote, cell phone, etc) to have to him it works. He will lay still and look at the toy and it gives us time for a quick change without poop on the carpet!
